A full WebEx-based conference call helped kick off the new Omnikron Cloud Training and Introduction series. Interest and participation surprised everybody, highlighting an industry need, and tremendous interest in both the technology and economics of cloud computing.
Attendees represented a wide range of backgrounds, industries, and employment status, including consultants from "Big 5" corporations, healthcare, research, entertainment, and government offices. Several attendees were recently load off, and realize this might be a great opportunity to refresh their qualifications in the cloud space, ready for the time when companies resume hiring.
The incentive for Omnikron is bringing a new vision to our community, and providing both thought leadership and real recommendations to attendees on how they might approach their own cloud strategy.
"I watched the webcast last night on cloud computing. I thought it was awesome! Where I work, I simply don't see a lot of DEEP thinking about new and emerging technologies and I can really get wide and deep about how to apply these concepts to the County.
Within the Cloud Computing presentation, there were a few BIG concepts that I was very excited about which included virtualization (obviously) and BIG savings on data centers... From what I have seen from your webcast, there can be significant savings on how to deliver services into the County....
Unfortunately, our biggest obstacle around these issues seems to be ourselves... but at least I am inspired and I wanted to thank you for that!"
Omnikron and the CTC will continue working together to ensure our community has the best possible access to cloud computing information resources, training, and consulting if needed to ensure we are ready to respond to the challenges, decisions, and opportunitiews related to this exciting technology and business enabler.
Please let us know your thoughts and question on this event, or what you might want to see in future seminars.
