Since 1994, Lee Curtis has focused on providing investigative and security technology consulting. A Vice President at Precision Discovery, LLC, Lee’s impressive career includes serving as a head of the financial advisory services’ high-tech investigations and IT consulting practice at a number of international consulting companies. He was also a senior managing director at Aon Consulting, Kroll and CoreFacts, LLC as well as the director in charge of the Western U.S. forensic practice at KPMG.

Lee’s experience includes serving for more than 30 years in the law enforcement field, conducting federal and state criminal investigations. During this time, he served as a criminal investigator in the High-Tech and White Collar Crime Unit of the Santa Clara District Attorney’s Office and was responsible for the oversight of all computer forensic matters. In this capacity, Lee investigated proprietary theft and other technology-related cases. Prior to his tenure at the D.A.’s Office, Lee was a special agent with the Criminal Investigation Division of the IRS. While there he held various positions, including criminal investigator, group manager and certified computer investigative specialist. 

Throughout his career, Lee has gained significant experience in financial investigations, forensic accounting, computer recovery and data analysis. His casework has included the investigation and management of domestic and international investigations of federal criminal violations involving tax evasion, money laundering, illegal currency transactions, perjury, conspiracy, bank fraud and bankruptcy. These investigations involved the use of indirect methods of proof in reconstruction and tracing the flow of funds. Lee has also worked with law firms to identify cost-effective, efficient ways to retrieve electronic evidence.

The courts have accepted Lee as an expert witness and a special master on numerous occasions. He has testified in civil and criminal trials involving computer forensics in U.S. District Court and state court. Lee has served as an instructor and guest speaker at the Department of Justice, State of California, Federal Law Enforcement Training Center, law schools and international high tech investigation conferences.

Lee Curtis is also a member, Board of Directors and Past International President of High Technology Crime Investigation Association.
